How To Make Avocado Baked Eggs

How To Make Avocado Baked Eggs

Today is Brunch Day at our house as is most days of the week. I am sure that most of you have seen the pictures from different recipes so hereis How to Make Avocado Baked Eggs we make at our house. I shared this recipe last year but I have added unformation on when to add the bacon so I thought this would be a good time to share the recipe again.

This delicious breakfast dish looks as good as it tastes. If you happen to be following a Keto lifestyle this has a double win as the avocado is full of good fat and the bacon is carb free.

There are a couple of “tricks” to perfecting this recipe, however. For starters, use large avocados and medium-sized eggs. Otherwise, the egg white may overflow the avocado. Cracking each egg into a small bowl before carefully pouring it into the avocado will also help prevent spills.

Avocado Baked Eggs is a very fast breakfast, from prep to table should be about 30 minutes Click To Tweet

Should We Eat Like Our Ancestors?

Should We Eat Like Our Ancestors?

The paleo diet and to a large extent the keto diet are both based on the core idea that our bodies are not equipped to deal with the developments of modern food types. Proponents believe that we should get our nutrition from a diet that mirrors that of our ancestors because modern developments in processed foods have quickly outgrown our natural ability to evolve with them. Both diets outlines foods that our ancestors did eat, and foods that we should categorically avoid although the choices very a little in what is allowed. Can You do Keto on a Whole Food Diet?

Can You do Keto on a Whole Food Diet?

Can You do Keto on a Whole Food Diet? Well it is doable and gives us the best of both worlds but it does take a little planning so I will share some ideas here to make it easier.

The keto diet is a very popular option that encourages you to eat as many quality grass-fed open range meats, wild caught fish, free range chicken and good low carb veggies at mealtime.
There are some veggies that do not meet these guidelines and that will be covered later.  However, If you are following a whole foods lifestyle it just takes a little adjustment to what you already enjoy and you will be just fine. I follow both and to tell the truth and “go Paleo” for a week now and then. It was just a little hard when I first started because there were some foods that are harder to source here in Mexico than in the states. My answer was to have friends bring me some of the items when they came to Puerto Vallarta for vacation. (more…)

Is Daily Functional Fitness For You

Is Daily Functional Fitness For You

This is an update of an article I shared about 2 years ago. At that time I have lost a little over 50 pounds. Now it is a little over 100 pounds so I thought I would update this article and share it with those that might have missed it the first time around.

Long ago I decided that daily Functional Fitness was going to be the way for me to go if I was to exercise and stay in any kind of shape at all. I adjusted to a Ketogenic lifestyle that includes a lot more whole foods and I use functional fitness as my exercise program. As a side effect and without effort on my part other than the above, I have dropped a tad over 100 pounds that needed to go.

When I had my annual physical the doctor discovered through the blood work that I had a health issue that needed to be addressed. The pounds had to go in the fastest possible time without putting a strain on my health in general. That made it extra easy to make the changes. I have more pounds to drop (the curse of being a chef) and I plan to share with you what I do so perhaps if you want to drop a few pounds or just want to add a little Daily Functional fitness to your life, you will join me.
